3-PHA — Hazard study
The PHA — Hazard study (internally "EDD") follows the SEVESO regulatory approach with the PIGC grids. Only available if Hazard study mode is enabled in the Context.

Hazard study table columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| System / Hazard | Identifiers from the reference library |
| Initiating event | Initial cause of the scenario (e.g. Ammonia pipe rupture) |
| ERC | Central Feared Event (Événement Redouté Central) — the reference accident (e.g. Toxic NH₃ cloud dispersion) |
| Dangerous phenomenon | Physical effect generated (BLEVE, VCE, flash fire, spill, toxic dispersion…) |
| Consequences | Severity and reach of the effects on targets (people, environment, assets) |
| PIGC severity | According to the regulatory grid (1 to 5): Very serious / Serious / Significant / Moderate / Minor |
| PIGC probability | According to the regulatory grid (A to E): Common / Probable / Improbable / Rare / Very improbable |
| Passive MMR | Passive Risk Control Measures (detection, containment bund, firewall…) |
| Active MMR | Active MMR (SIS, automatic shutdown, detection-trigger…) |
SEVESO matrix tab
Regulatory PIGC matrix (5 × 5). Scenarios are positioned according to their PIGC Severity and Probability. Regulatory colours:
- Red — unacceptable (mandatory measures)
- Yellow — to be controlled (reduction required)
- Orange ALARP — as low as reasonably practicable
- Green — acceptable
WARNING
The PIGC grids are fixed in accordance with French regulations. They cannot be modified. For a non-SEVESO study with custom scales, use the Physical risks PHA.
