Metrics & risk matrix
Configures the scales of the EBIOS RM study: risk levels, likelihood, severity, and the matrix that crosses them.
Scope
These scales are specific to the EBIOS RM module. The IEC 62443 module has its own metrics, and Industrial Risks has its own too. In a multi-method project, the three coexist without synchronising.
Four tabs
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Risk levels | Possible outcomes of the matrix — used throughout the study |
| Likelihood | Horizontal axis of the matrix; used in scenarios and calculations |
| Severity | Vertical axis; used in feared events and calculations |
| Matrix | Likelihood × Severity crossing |
Each level carries a value, a label, a description and a colour, with a preview.
Setting the matrix
Click a cell to change the risk level associated with the Likelihood × Severity crossing. The Auto-fill button applies a consistent progression across the whole grid, to be adjusted afterwards.
The matrix stays empty as long as likelihood and severity levels are not defined.
Reset
The Reset button restores the whole matrix to the EBIOS RM default values, after confirmation.
Changing a scale mid-study
Changing the levels or the matrix re-rates the whole study: feared events, scenarios, risk summary and residual risks. Do this at the start, not after Workshop 5.
